Kerala is a state which is rich in its biodiversity. All the fourteen districts of Kerala has a number of eco-spots where they get to slide into the best destinations for exploration. The wildlife sanctuaries and parks spread out in Kerala are under the supervision of the forest department. The rich biodiversity of Kerala shimmers in abundance in the form of flora and fauna.
There are 14 wildlife sanctuaries located in the state housing various animals like Lion-Tailed Macaque and Giant Grizzled Squirrel. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary are few of the famous bird sanctuaries located in Kerala where the people get to site local and migratory species of birds.
Two tiger reserves, namely Periyar Tiger Reserve and Parambikulam Tiger Reserve are also situated here. Endangered species like Nilgiri Thar and Indian Bison are protected in the national parks of Kerala which are located amidst the nature showcasing the beauty of the Western Ghats.
The evergreen grasslands and lush green environment of Kerala take the travellers on jeep safaris and trekking through the wildlife parks here. The travellers have to take prior permission from the authorities in order to explore the real natural habitats of the location in order to ensure safety.
